Easy appetizers (low calories)
It is Halloween season having a get together? Try this for a scartastic treat. Apple and Honey Cobbler.
2lbs of ripe red delicious apples peeled and cored.
6-9 tea spoons of honey
2 Cups of all purpose flour
3 Table spoons of sugar
1/4 Cup of butter
7 to 9 Tea spoons of milk
1 Egg
Put the apples in an oven proof dish along with the honey. Cover with a sheet of foil and cook in a preheated oven of 400 degrees f for 20 minutes.
Put the flour in and the sugar into a large bowl and using your fingers, rub in the butter until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
Using a round bladed knife, stir in the milk and eggs, so that the mixture forms a soft dough. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured work surface. and Kneed it until it is smooth.
Roll the dough out until it is about 1/2 inch thick. Cut the dough into rounds using a 2-inch cutter to form the cobbles. Carefully arrange the scone cobbles in a circle around the top edge of the dish of the apple over lapping each scone slightly. Brush the top of each one with a little milk and sprinkle with the extra sugar. Return the apple cobbler to the oven same temperature as before, and cook until the scones are firm and have risen and are well browned. Serve dish hot.
