Pasties Pretty simple:
1 lb. gr. beef
2 med. potatoes (peeled and diced)
3 med. carrots (peeled and diced)
1 lg. onion (diced)
1 egg
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. onion powder
2 ready-made (or homemade) pie crusts
Preheat oven to 350.
In lg. bowl, mix all ingredients except for pie crust. Divide mixture in half. Place half of the mixture on half of pie crust. Fold crust over mixture and crimp. Do same with remaining mixture and second pie crust. Cut two or three 1 inch slits in top of each pie crust. Place pie crusts on greased baking sheet. Bake in 350 oven for 1 to 1-1/2 hours. Let pasties cool at least a few minutes before serving. Good served hot, lukewarm, or cold. Many like with gravy, many like plain or even with ketchup.
